also 22 for romney. what it means is that the idea that obama could get 80% of the minority again it's actually quite plausible based on this and other data. that looks like what it's going to get to. if he doesn't get 80, he will get 7 meters 79. as you can see by the right-hand figures, obama is actually doing better -- which is actually somewhat better than he did in 2000 and one he lost them by 18 points. remember what we said about the outlandishly large margin that mitt romney needs to be with white working-class voters. he is not anywhere close. that is the bottom line. this is true across many polls. you might see a margin of 20 points for mitt romney or a margin of 22 points. nowhere do you see the outside margin that he really needs to win the election. given how he appears to be holding support and then some of college graduate voters so that is where we are now in the national picture. as we know, these elections that we choose to have in the united states are not decided by the popular vote.

governor romney, the primary debater versus governor romney the presidential debater. how are they going to be different? >> well, i think if he does what he did in florida, if he goes on offense, then, you know, he'll be the same debater that he was toward the end of the primary season. and that's what he needs to do. if he gets defensive, then i think that's a bad thing. so i think he'll go on offense, though. he certainly has a lot of material to work with. >> what do you think we're talking about wednesday morning, brett o'donnell? are we talking about how great of a performance he had or are we saying agh, this thing is probably over? >> no, first of all i think these could be great debates. you have two very capable debaters heading into the debates. and i think we're going to come out and learn more about the president's policies and learn that it was the president who is responsible for the economic conditions of millions of americans are suffering through right now. >> brett, i was going to give you the last line. i can't let it end there. richard, is that the

not much going on there for romney. wisconsin is a state where if you're going to crack the midwest code, given what was happening with ohio, they thought perhaps they could do it in wisconsin. the problem is twofold for them. one is if you look at the level of demographic change that's taking place in wisconsin, it's quite startling according to these current data. a three-point increase in a share of minority eligible voters. a seven-point decline among white noncollege voters, eligible voters. these are huge changes and odyssey they do exactly against within inches of the romney team in wisconsin. so maybe they thought if they nominate paul ryan they would be able to take advantage what they believe to be this massive culturally conservative white working-class voters in the state but again it doesn't seem to be happening. they are making some progress, some progress among current nine but it's not anywhere close to what's needed to take the state. so they're not able to sort of master the state in the face of this d

the romney campaign says he was a clear winner on substance. >> mitt romney may have scored some style point during this theatrical debate performance but he failed on the facts and his credibility didn't pass the bar the american people are looking for. as we shuffled through the debate transcript and look at what he had to say, i think what the american people are left with are doubling down on fast-rising medicare, his magic math using a magic calculator to pay for his tax plan. he says he will fight for education but he wants to cut the education budget by 20%. that doesn't sit well for people making decisions across the country. you called it theatrical and magic math. david axlerod conceded for governor romney this was a strong performance. do you concede the same? >> i concede after practicing more than any candidate in modern presidential history he delivered on his attack lines. bill: so it was just practice brought a winner for governor romney? >> i think practicing obviously paid off for him. but at the end of the day people are looking closely at his policies and he doubled

governor romney says we should replace it. i'm just going to repeal it but we can replace it with something. but the problem is he hasn't described what exactly we'd replace it with other than saying we're going to leave if to the states. but the fact of the matter is some of the prescriptions that he's offered like letting you buy insurance across state lines, there's no indication that that somehow is going to help someone who's got a pre-existing condition be able to finally buy insurance. in fact, it's estimated that by repealing obama care you're looking at 50 million people losing health insurance at a time when it's vitally important. >> let's let the governor explain what you would do if obama care is repealed. how would you replace it? >> actually, it's a lengthy description but number one, pre-existing conditions are covered under my plan. number two, young people are able to stay on their family plan. that's already offered in the private marketplace. you don't have to have the government mandate to for that to occu
